Jomsom, a modern town, is the 'Thakali' homeland. The Thakali people are of Tibetan origin but have their own language and customs. The trip begins with a flight to Jomsom from Kathmandu and initially one rides a popular trekking trial which leads to many different, wonderful villages rich in culture and architecture. The narrow, rocky track slowly descends to meet a paved road which gets one to the beautiful city of Pokhara city on day 5. Unlike the rest of the Nepalese Himalayas, the Annapurna mountain range does not form a border between Nepal and Tibet.
